I have a Gameking 4-16 x 50 mildot on my HMR. It does its job perfectly, keeps zero. Glass quality is good enough for general hunting in daylight. I'd say they are pretty good value for what you pay. Thats my experience of one scope anyway.

They are a good solid scope. They are inexpensive, but not cheap. A good piece of glass for a good price.

Never heard of them having any zero problems.

Good scopes, like everything they used to be made in Japan but then moved to China manufacture. Iphones are made in China as well...
I have one from the 70's that still works well.
They are big in the NZ/Aus market and they hunt in difficult conditions and seem to like the scopes.
For the money they work well.

I have a 4-16x50 30mm nighteater, 200 Euro delivered to the door. Its a great scope for the price and excellent t in low light and under the lamp. I'll be sticking it on a 243 soon till I upgrade.

Go with whatever you find the best value in, both good scopes. I have Hawke as well.
Usually one will have a special selling point that you will find sways you one way or the other.

What kind of money are you looking to spend?

€ for € he nighteater 30mm is similar to the hawke varmint but the nighteater is much clearer at higher mag and better in low light.

ive used it side by side with a hawke endurance 3-12x56 and although the 56 takes in a bit more light in low light its not worth almost €200 extra, but if you have the budget for the higher end hawke like the sidewinder go for one of them, if not then the nikko are better.

How much are you willing to spend?

I went for the nighteater 30mm 4-16x50 with mildot and its a great scope.
    http://www.tacticalscope.co.uk/non-uk-scope-export-orders-18-w.asp

got it off this site and had it in a matter of days, but they dont have the 4-16x50 model on the site, it came with sunshade and flip covers too.
There are also nighteater available in 25mm too.

add about €50 for the IR version.
