Just wondering. About 18 months ago we bought a new fridge freezer, Hisense, some cheap enough brand from DID (I think) Anyway, there's a small drainage hole at the end of the fridge (inside) for water from defrosting etc to drain down and out in to a thing at the back (I assume) but at the back we can't see the water container thing that you can remove and empty? There is something (maybe that is the container)but it can't be opened and removed.

Are we supposed to be able to open it and empty it? In the former fridge freezer we had you could do this but not this newer one? So if we aren't supposed to empty it....where does the water go? It's just that a water stain has started to appear on the ceiling below so we're trying to figure out whether it's from the fridge (being unable to empty it's water container), the tumble dryer (which we very seldom use) or an internal pipe that goes to or from the sink that's leaking? Thanks.

It drips onto a little tray that sits on top of the motor, the heat from the motor causes the water to evaporate, so no need for a drain.
They do sometimes smell if something like blood from raw meat drains into the tray.

I see, yeah, was thinking that it evaporates but wasn't too sure. Looks like the water stain appearing in the ceiling below is from something else then, probaly a leaking pipe  Thanks.

Is the little pipe that exits the fridge going into the evoporating tray? Maybe it's dripping outside the tray.

However, that said, there wouldn't be much water exiting the fridge, I doubt there'd be enough to stain the ceiling on the lower floor anyway.
