    Hello All
This is my first build and would like comments on the above spec. Budget has come in around my 500 budget :) (for the box) Total Budget for build is 800 including Monitor.
Any way i can improve the above? The computer will be used for mainly word processing and music playing movies ect :)
I will be making it a dual boot with Win 7 64 bit and Ubuntu 12

I want to "future proof" it as much as possible :)

Any recommendations on a monitor? I have a Dell 22 inch lcd at the moment (Insprion 531 thats 7 years old)
Would a Catleap Monitor be a bridge too far for the above setup? (€250 or so for that)

    Regards

Run those parts through giezhals.de (sp?) and you probably could save another 20 euro or so, it'll cover the delivery at least.
The spelling of that site could be a bit off, but there's a thread dedicated to it somewhere on here if you want to check it out.

As for the build have you considered going AMD route?

Yeah i will be doing that after i have settled on the parts to be purchased :)
AMD will be considered. I'm looking for best bang per buck. My present machine has a "AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+
Windsor 90nm Technology" according to Speccy :)

If you arent gaming then you could drop the graphics card, onboard should be fine (unless you do get a catleap). You could also get a lower (and cheaper) wattage psu if you have no dedicated graphics card. You could get a decent SSD and still shave a chunk off your budget.

Could Change the PSU to a corsair cx 500w modular (modular easier to work with). Better future proof. Or if not in stock a be quiet 7 500w. 52 euro. your choice is perfectly fine.

Case corsair carbide 300r slightly more expensive 6 euro. Worth it.

Good spot on the PSU :) Why is the 300r case better?
