Searching for Prescription Drug Info

    Hi all,

I am searching for info on a particular prescription drug. This particular drug is "black boxed" in the USA because one of the side effects can be depression and suicidal tendencies. However the internet is riddled with user stories who say the side effects can go much further to include psychotic behaviour, detachment from reality, acting completely out of character and other things. I was prescribed this drug a few years ago and I feel that I was affected in some serious ways, such as acting out of character.

I can find some peer reviewed formal research studies on the more "minor" side effects of the drug and these are what lead to it being "black boxed" in the USA. However while there are plenty of stories going around the internet about the more serious side effects I cannot seem to find anything in the nature of a formal peer reviewed research study.

My question is, does anyone have any idea where I might look for such a thing ? Is anyone aware of a place that might conduct such a study ? What are the types of organisations I should be looking for ?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated. I am already convinced of these serious side effects because I've experienced them myself, however I need some solid proof because I am hoping it will help in my defence of court proceedings I am facing.

    Thanks all.

I would imagine you have a few options. Firstly if the black box warning specifically mentions the side effects you believed you experienced that's quite solid evidence. You could also search pubmed for high impact papers that cite the side effect you may have experienced. Another option would be to have a medical expert speak for you.

Your solicitor should be advising you really...
