I'm in the process of fitting new rear suspension ball joints
These ball joints are pressed in to the suspension arm

I managed to replace one with a big ball joint tool (C clamp type) but it was a mighty effort and the tool was working at its limit, not looking forward to doing the other side.

the proper tool is shown in picture attached it would make life so much easier
if anyone has one to rent or loan I would be very grateful, I don't want to buy one because it would be a one time use only for me and they are expensive.

I'm in the Dublin 22 area

    Thanks in advance

I made up a tool for the e36 ball joints and have used it many times since.

I got 2 heavy pieces of box section an drilled two 1/2 holes in either end of each. Then ran two lengths of m12 threaded bar between them. I just have a load of old gun barell fittings and bearing shells that I use as spacers.

You probably already know to freeze the ball joint solid too will help it go in easier.

I bought a very small bottle jack for €10, and it fits between the two holes in the box section, so the next time I will use that inside the clamp, should make light work of anything.

I was thinking about buying a nuts and bolt and using the adopters from ball joint kit

I haven't found someone selling proper bolts long enough.
I even went to a local business that advertises nuts and bolts but they just sold fastener types and light weight small thin bolts

where did you buy your nuts and bolts ?

Don't get bolts, get some m12 all threaded bar, lots of places sell this even builder providers (usually). Get a fair few nuts and some nice washers. The lot should cost less than €5. Then get some 2 x 2 inch thick box section.
