Your dream job in a location where you know nobody and little chance of gettin back to where you want to live?

    Or

A relatively secure average job in terms of pay and little chance of promotion, but right beside your family, friends, OH ect

    Dream job.

I'd go with option B, family and a home life are important, well they are to me, so the dream job would have to go for a hop.

If I were to jack in what I do here and head off to work for one of the oil companies in back-arse-boonsville, I'd earn good money and be doing "my dream job", I was offered €2500 starting plus bonuses a week to go play in Nigeria, but I'd be on my tod and no-one would walk the dog. I'd also miss the wife and kids, probably.

I have option B already, so I'd pick A. You can always meet new people, they're everywhere.

My dream job would involve lots of spondoolicks and very little effort or sacrifice, otherwise it would not be my dream job.

I'd choose the former. New friends are relatively easy to make and home and old friends are rarely more than 24 hrs away.
