Need some help. I have an Error showing on my boiler but can't find it in manual or online. It's flashing "err e:05". It had run out of oil but have refilled and tried bleeding the burner but it won't even try to ignite. Any ideas? Thanks.

Error 5, burner has generated a lockout condition

Reset the control (small reset button on panel, with a pen tip) then reset burner, should try fire

All very informative but doesn't solve my problem, have the same error code E5 - done the reset and the burner humes into action but doesn't fire. What could cause this burner error or what can I do apart from the reset that hasn't worked - with the 4 day Easter weekend I really don't want to be without hot water for that long - tia

It is a burner issue. If the motor is not starting, then the hum sound you hear is the capacitor. It could be the capacitor but most likely it is the fuel pump or it could be something else. You will most likely need a competent service technician with a flue gas analyser..
