The floorboards in my living room were rotten so I pulled them up .
    ..
There is a rough concrete floor underneath to a depth of 2cm.

I am looking to get someone to make a new floor to replace floorboards using sand and cement to bring it up to level of hall and kitchen.

The room is approx 3m x 4.5m. How much should I expect to pay someone to do this including cost of materials and labour

    Thanks for any advice

You can use a 3:1 mix of sand/cement using an SBR polymer to basically replace the water. You can bond it with either a slurry of the polymer and cement or an epoxy bonding agent, which gives a very strong bond.
Anybody who is good with a trowel could do it. The polymer will cost about €150 and the epoxy about €60 plus the sand and cement which are quite cheap to buy.

    Thanks a million

How long would this take to do for an experienced builder ? A full day ?

    Probably about 4 - 5 hours
