Hi all, I'm going to the dentist tomorrow but the dentist can't confirm whether I qualify for the PRSI check-up, which I haven't had done in a couple of years. I have tried calling them but have been kept on hold, as they are not very good with answering phones. Can anyone tell me, if I do end up paying at my appointment…

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me, if I do end up paying at my appointment tomorrow and it turns out that I do qualify, will I be able to claim back the cost?

The dentist won't know if you are entitled to benefits. Contact the Dept of Social Welfare directly and ask them if you qualify for dental benefits http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/Schemes-_-Services-Contact-Information.aspx

Most dentists will be happy to claim the benefit for you and refund your cash if you have already paid them.
