I have 2 poles in one of my fields carrying a phone line to a now derelict cottage in the yard. Is there somebody I can ask about using these or how do lads aquire them?

Usuall when they are taken down just ask them and they leave them. As for a shed be easier to get girders ad poles aren't parallel they taper in at the top so it's awkward to build.

Chainsaw is your best friend. Joking aside, where you based? There is a lad in Mayo I think that sells Esb poles.

Esb poles are plenty good for building a handy sized shed. I've 2 sheds here with 20 years and the poles are as good as the day they were put down and should last for many years to come..

Tie them to a loader, rock them over and back a wee bit and pull them up.
    Oh but ask eircom first.
