Hi All, just looking for a bit of advice. I have applied for the PME and had the minimum standard of 41 points for UCD and NUIG and have fulfilled the requirements however I was rejected and told I'd be put on the waiting list for the course. I rang PAC who told me that they couldn't tell me realistically what my chances are in relation to gaining an offer in the second round.
With 240 places in NUIG and 200 in UCD. What are my chances of being offered a place here? Have many of you been in a similar situation?

Unless things have changes since the PDE, if you reached the minimum points necessary only e.g. 41 points then everyone on 41 was put into a random selection lottery. Over and above the points guarantees a place, but those on the minimum points are selected in a lottery system. Perhaps this is the reasoning behind it.

PAC is basically operating in the same way as the CAO. It depends on supply and demand. If lots apply points go up and if demand is low or lots reject their offers then points drop. The answer is nobody knows.
