Dimplex Quantum Hot Water Cylinder Advice

I am looking into getting a Dimplex Quantum Hot Water Cylinder for an apartment - as one option.

Why? - because i need to replace a boiler that's in place already.
I also like the sound of their claims, i like the fact that it has a digital temp readout, i like the fact that it is programmable and i like the fact that i won't have to wait an hour if i decide to spontaneously have a shower or bath.

Does anyone here use this currently or has in the past?
Has anyone installed this and have any advice?

Is it actually easier and cheaper to run, as the marketing states?

Are there any alternative options that provide the claimed cost efficiency, advanced management etc.

I have googled and haven't come across any real-world reviews.

If i put this unit in, i guess that i will also need a cold water cylinder of some sort to store water if the main supply is cut off.

    Your advice is much appreciated.

Note: I am not looking for long-winded debates or encyclopaedic explanations of the technicalities of 100% efficiency etc. Just real-world experiences of this.

I am sure your note at the end will endear you to lots of people here..... NOT

I know, but i've just spent a few hours reading through other related posts where the OP hasn't received a response to their original question yet there have been pages upon pages of debate.

I just want to know from a real-world perspective if it will provide a hot shower/bath when needed and more cost effectively (together with the other questions posted above).

    :)

    Thanks.

And what if someone gives you a real world perspective and others disagree with that perspective? Is it not better to hear other sides so that you can make an informed decision?
Give the people here the benefit of the doubt, before trying to head off something that might be of benefit to you.

Real world is real world and it counts.
Conjecture, sales people trying to sell you stuff that doesn't exist, people talking about the theory of things when they haven't lived with it or experienced it, people who just want to use a thread to argue...All of that doesn't matter.

It's about keeping to the matter at hand, because there's slim chance of a moderator stepping in early enough to keep things on track.

So, I guess nobody thus far has anything relevant to contribute. I know, I sound like a d1ck, but I really meant it only so that the thread would not digress to something entirely different.

The last one I read on heating systems went on for multiple pages and when the OP finally got back to respond everyone shut up and the question was not answered.

Arguments, conjecture and diversification from the topic at hand seem to be the order of day at boards recently.
I just wanted to avoid that on my thread but it seems that's not to be.

Edit: I just realised that the previous two posts were from the same person trolling with nothing to contribute to the topic. Sorry if I annoy anyone else, but this is just what I mean.

If anyone can help with the original questions, I would be most appreciative. I have to make a decision on this soon enough but perhaps it will help others in a similar situation regarding their immersion units.

Further to this, i have made some calls including to the Irish Distributor where i got the run-around of voicemails and full voicemail boxes, and listed stockists/suppliers who haven't a clue about it.

After all of that, it seems that this is (almost) the equivalent of an imaginary product with no install base in Ireland and hence no expertise.

So, the the previous troll poster above cannot comment knowledgeably about this product.

I hope this helps others, and if someone does get to using this product please feel free to post your experience.
