I had my car in for its annual service yesterday. On collecting it I was told I needed to have two Bushels and the Wishbone replaced. I was quoted €1.500 for the parts and labour.
I need to know is the about right???

No way in hell it would cost anything close to that.
Bring car somewhere else and get a proper quote.
Bushings are quite cheap and wishbone too. Add an hour or two labour at 50/h.

given how close you are to ardfallen i would give them a shout.
Also dont assume that the lad who wanted 1500 from you was honest when he said the parts were damaged.

Biko and Toyota Avensis My Hero's.
The Garage I go to is a very reputable garage near the "Magic Roundabout". They were/ are the main Toyota dealers in Cork. ?????????

Would expect that they would be honest but get a second opinion anyways.

You'd get an entire Yaris Verso for that.

Crazy going to a main dealer with a car that age.

Colm I bought the car there and have taken it to that Dealer every year since.

Of course they'll keep it in tip-top condition for you, and an old car is as entitled to proper maintainance as a new one, but there comes a point (like this) where you have to question the economics of it.

Are you sure they said €1500? There's been some mix up somewhere imo.
