    Hi folks,

    Just 1 or 2 questions here on this.

    I'm struggling to find any info on it for a college project where we are writing about how little Social Media Marketing is regulated here. Anyone have any good links to do with it?


    Also, what'd be the correct Act of the Oireachtas to look at in regards to advertising alcohol to minors?

    Advertising in Ireland is largely self regulated. The relevant act of the Oireachtas is the Consumer Protection Act, 2007. The Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland is the independent self-regulatory body of the advertising industry. See here or here.

    Here is the specific section on alcohol advertising.

    Under the Consumer Protection Act, the the National Consumer Agency is empowered to take action against businesses which mislead the consumer through advertising. The Advertising Standards Authority for Ireland will also deal with complaints from members of the public about possible misleading advertisements or other breaches of the code.
