do lambs need dosed

    hello all
    abit of advice needed
    lambs around 7 to 8 weeks old
    a few have dirty back ends, should i does them for worms
    also ewes got a heptavac p plus injection 5 weeks prior to lambing. should i injected the lambs now with that aswell as dose them

    I would do an FEC test through your vet which would tell you precisely what the problem is.

    Waste of time and money if you go in and dose for the wrong thing.

    Could be nematodirus or coccidiosis.

    Yes, you can vaccinate the lambs now too.

    cheers. i have bimectin here. i will inject with that see how they react to it.
    i know as you say the FEC test is the way to go to be sure but will try this first and see what happens

    I would imagine this mild weather would be ideal for conditions nematodirus?

    Is it a black scour?

    yes black scour. would that be a sign off nematodirus

    yes but cocci is also black scour, as con said, fec is the way to go.
