This issue ongoing since couple of threads.

2003 Passat 1.9TDI has water leaks on driver side and right rear passenger floor.

Because this is a common Passat problem, everyone advise that open the bonet, remove the battery hand clean the "2" different holes for water go down from windscreen which I did. I have cleaned them half blocked holes.

But again, after the first day the floor still wet when I press down with hand or foot.
I check all around where could possible goes in,( around windows, door frame, windscreen area. )

The funny thing is there is nothing on passenger(left) side front & rear. It is nice and dry.No water at all.

Did anyone of you had this sort of problem with waterleak on floor? Can you share & advice your experience ?
    Thanks.

Not familiar with VWs but my 2003 BMW E39 had similar problem. Leak was coming in down the window and thru the door. There is a vapour barrier membrane inside door to stop this but it was leaking. Fixed it by taking off door card and sealing down the edge of the membrane- may be the same for you. Good luck!

Although you have cleared the blockages there is could still be standing water underneath the carpet. Taking up the carpet is a bitch of a job but there is a rubber bung underneath the drivers side footwell you might be able to push up to release the water.

Carpets, or the 1-2 inch thick sponge layers underneath, hold immense amounts of water. You could leave it for months and months and itll still be saturated when you press down. I'm afraid there really is only one option (trust me :( ) and its removal of seats, centre console, side trims and the carpet and sponge in its entirety. Then, copious amounts of time in front of a kerosene heater.

    Thanks.

I currently have my 2005 Passat stripped for the same issue. Look up pollen filter housing leak and ECU housing leak.

The seals fitted in the factory are only foam and split over time.

I couldn`t figure out where exactly you mean with " Look up pollen filter housing leak and ECU housing leak. "

the pollen filter housing is a big large hole which goes down through inside the passenger side of car.

You're leak is coming in from where the housing is meeting the cars body.

The door seals also leak commonly, where the regulator frame meets the door frame.

Do you mean the Pollen Filter housing or ECU housing ? the pollen filter is on the passenger site but water on driver side and rear floor..

    thanks.

Hi Newbie, yeah the base of the plastic housing of the polen filter lets in water. My ECU died and may have been related to this.
Is there a sunroof on the car? there are drain holes in the sunroof that can become blocked too.

    hi.

No, it hasnt got a sunroof. I`ve removed the Pollen filter today again , and seen that the hard plastic housing was already altered by someone previously, they probably tried to remove it, but they couldnt .They put glue and silicon inside the pollen housing.
    it has sign of crack.

We had this leak on an 04 Passat twice from the air filter.

We also had a leak from a blocked air con outlet pipe which ran water into the drivers side as well ( would have expected it to leak into the passengers foot well.)

Check all doors have tight seal and are at least flush, if not move door catch/striker back slightly, this is easily done by loosening the 2 torx head screws and tipping the door striker towards car interior, tighten bolts before testing. It is possible for these strikers through wear and tear, to move... When happy with door alignment tighten bolts 'heavy handed'. Hope this helps.

The mother had this in her skoda superb. I put in newspapers and stood on them and used them to gather up the water. I went through a lot of newspapers doing this. Thank god for the free Cork independent. I put it to good use.

Once it was fairly dry, i threw a few bags of rice on top of it. It still felt a little damp so I hardryered it for a while and then did the rice again.

This was a balls of a job but at least it was sorted then.
