    Hi Folks

Long story , my sons bmx ( 2012 bought) rear wheel hub needs replacing as the mechanism now fails to catch when he tries to peddle forward, it free wheels...
I took the part out of the hub and right enough its goners...

Well, this happened 6 weeks ago and have been onto bmx in the US. They took 1 week between mails to answer me and the questions about getting a replacement part...long and short..I have a part no. (HUMGB12)but cant seem to search for it on the link they gave me, sent another mail and now they say they cant ship internationally and need to find a dealer locally....its a bloody joke the runaround I'm being given...
If any one can help I'd much appreciate...

    Cheers

Maybe it's a stupid question, but have you checked your local bike shops to see if one them has a new hub for it, or can fix it?

Yep, have done. Keep getting the quote 'that's a bmx part, fairly specialized, sorry don't have anything like it' ... When did bikes become so complicated?? I used to fix my own , years ago. I guess its another ploy to get you to buy the correct part for an exorbitant price...good old redundant parts eh... 'Lets not make them last '
    Excuse my cynicism...

If you're in Dublin I'd recommend checking out Bee Cycles. It's a one-man operation, and he's a bit of a specialist when it comes to unusual bike parts and an excellent wheel-builder. Very reliable and skilled guy, he's also a user on this forum and I'm certain that everybody who's been through his door has been satisfied.

If you're on facebook you can search the name Bee Cycles and send the guy a message.
