    Hi,
I was involved in a small RTA ( not my fault ) but was asked to produce my insurance cert in my local Garda station.
I did this and got a receipt. I looked at the receipt but never really took too much notice.
I was just filing it away there when I noticed the address he put on it is wrong. It's one from years ago . ( if you'd asked me to tell you the address I wouldn't have been able to tell you as it's that long ago)
The annoying thing is , he asked me was I living at a certain address and I told him no , n gave him the townland of where I am living. It's s Complete different county and zero similarity to the other one .
Will this make a difference or will I have to go in and try explain all this again to Gardai ?

Do they give you a receipt...?

I had to produce my insurance and licence at my local Garda station a year or two back and I wasn't given a receipt, I asked for one and the Garda told me they don't give them. I asked how would I prove I had produced if there was any follow up and he basically said "you can see me writing it into the station log book" (even though I couldn't actually see what he was writing) "that will be enough".
I took him at his word but made a note of the date, time and his name and number. I also made a copy of my phone log to the station as I'd phoned down before I called in to arrange a suitable time.
I never heard any more about it but should I have been given a receipt...?

    Make a difference to?

If it's about the production details, no it doesn't. Your previous address auto populates the receipt as it's the current address that is on PULSE. So it won't effect the fact you've produced and you've met your requirements.

If you'd like to have them update your address you can certainly ask them too but depending on the circumstances of the recording of your previous address it may not be possible to update it.

Thank you for the replies. I was just panicking that it could be false or something because it was my old address ,
Yeah, he called it a receipt. Said to keep it just in case but that the Garda will be able to see on Pulse that I produced the insurance cert.
