Home tuition programme

    Hello

My daughter is entitled to 20 hrs home tuition/week because she has recently been diagnosed with autism. The most suitable person I can find to do this is a retired primary school teacher.
I'm more than happy to have her but where can I find out about how to design a home tuition programme for autism. Is anyone else in a similar position?
Is there a basic structure to follow? I really don't know where to start.

I have seen a Special needs thread in Rollercoaster.ie which seems to be very informative, might be worth while posting there

You would need to focus on her needs, as outlined in the assessment report. There's no "manual" as such.

Would designing the programme not be the remit of the teacher. I'm sure any teacher doing such programmes has access to suitable curriculum materials.

Did the psychologist give you a report? They usually give recommendations about what would suit your daughters needs and the teacher would devise a plan around that.
