Techno Recommendations

    Hi all

In the past 6 months or so I have become enamoured with a certain kind of techno and was wondering if anyone could point me to some essential similar artists! I'm talking about mostly newish producers like Clouds, Perc, Blawan, MPIA3 and especially Karenn who create a kind of minimal drilling sound. Anyone else into this stuff have any recommendations?

I'm pretty new to techno overall and I also like stuff from guys like Ben Klock and Richie Hawtin so anything like these guys that I should be checking out too would be appreciated :)

Vatican Shadow, Ekman, Regis, Gesloten Cirkel, Vereker, Kangding Ray & Ancient Methods would be a decent place to start from. They'd be towards the noisier side of techno. Labels to check would be Blackest Ever Black, Downwards, some LIES stuff, Berceuse Heroique, Hospital Records.

Stuff along the lines of Klock and them lads would be Shifted, Sigha, Sandwell District label, Eduardo De La Calle, I/Y, Rrose, Donato Dozzy, Lakker, Skudge, Shed, Analogue Cops, Function, J. Tijn, Rodhad, DVS1, Stephen Brown.

Then there's Detroit stuff like Jeff Mills (his discography is huge but a good place to start might be the Purpose Maker stuff or the Waveform albums), Omar S (& his Oasis stuff with Shadow Ray), Kyle Hall, MGUN, Luke Hess, Walt J.

Sunil Sharpe is another. Defo check his stuff out, should be right up your street. He runs a label called Earwiggle too.

Ianuss has pretty much nailed it, but I'll throw in a few others:

Traversable Wormhole (a project of Adam X)
    Brendon Moeller,
Luke Slater (his monikers L.B. Dub Corp & Planetary Assault Systems),
    Peter Van Hoesen
Neil Landstrumm (a bit on the wonky side these days),
Audio Injection (also known as Truncate),
    Xhin,
    DeFeKT,
    Furfriend (they're hilarious)
    Bill Youngman,
    Echologist,
Robert Hood (has a good album out under the Floorplan name)

A lot of great recommendations here. I'll just add a few extra recommendations no one mentioned yet:

    - Svreca. Really worth checking out this guy. Probably one of the most underrated techno DJs around and he's a pretty good producer as well and I really recommend you to check out his label Semantica (semanticarecords.bandcamp.com)
    - Abdulla Rashim and everything coming out on his labels Abdulla Rashim Records and Northern Electronics.
    - Vril
    - Traumprinz
    - Cio D'Or

I'd recommend the CLR podcast, Sleaze records podcast,Slam Radio and MOOD altering sessions all do be quality most weeks/months! Just came across Pyramid Podcast on mixcloud which have been great!

    Happy listening!

Good tip. I'm a huge fan of Inigo Kennedy. His new 'Lullaby / Petrichor' is massive (http://www.discogs.com/Inigo-Kennedy-Lullaby-Petrichor/release/5592776)
