Hi I was just wondering if anyone who has applied to the roll of honour has heard anything back directly or if it has been rumoured when we will hear (i.e. from the previous year)

    Many thanks

Heard back around the 9th April last year with the ceremony/collection taking place on the 11th! Didn't apply again this year but I'm guessing it'll be around the same time.

Just got my reply there. Ceremony seems to be next Thursday. Any idea what it entails?

Unless they have changed it, there is a reception in the Exam Hall. Free wine and finger food. You can collect your cert at a desk as you go in. The Dean of Students makes a speech, as done somebody else who is vaguely "inspirational." You drink the rest of the free wine and go home.

Roll of Honour might as well be called Roll of Irrelevance; it means sweet feck all. All it does is provide a nice looking bullet point on a CV and for that I'd say it's worth it.

Well yeah it looks good on a CV, but it's the whole principal and what it actually stands for. Basically enhancing the College community and helping students (in certain cases). I don't really care if an employer doesn't consider it in a job application. I did this for myself, I know I've done something good over the year and I'm glad that has been recognised!

It's a nice gesture and doesn't hurt the CV. Nobody's dropping out once they're on it or putting ROH after their names or anything.
