Backdate Dole in 2014

Hello, just wondering was let go in February and applied for the Dole. Employer still hasn't given me my P45. Will be my dole be backdated from when I applied? Sorry for asking but I can't seem to find anything relative online.

It will be backdate to the date you signed on.If you have no funds in the mean while see here http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/supplementary_welfare_schemes/supplementary_welfare_allow.html

just to clear up for example I finished work on 1st feb but signed on 14 feb, the payments I receive will be back dated to 14th feb?

Yes,unless you filled in the section on the form relating to late claims.http://www.welfare.ie/en/pdf/up1.pdf
