    Thanks.

MS website says the link to the 8.1 update should be in the Store app. There a ton of garbage there, but there's nothing about the 8.1 update.

Anywhere else I might download it?

    Thanks.

You'll have to install all available updates first for Windows before it appears in the appstore

Do you have a laptop or tablet. Does your laptop have a touch screen and is the screen quality 1080p. If yes that is a good start to moving to windows 8.1. You should consider the programs that you normally use and check if they are win 8.1 compatible. I am a computer engineer and i use my laptop for autocad and programming and win 8.1 so far is doing good. A lot of programs that i need for work and college are not working yet on win 8.1 but i have a work computer with windows 7 so i am grand

Windows "Easy" Transfer only copies files to 8.1

Allegedly it copies settings to windows 8, but YMMV

Yes, I downloaded updates, but still no 8.1 in the store.

To be honest, I probably don't need it. This laptop goes everywhere with me to capture images directly from a few cameras. Apart from that, I might surf the web for info when I'm on location, and that's it. Everything else is done on my other two computers back in the office.

Might leave well enough alone. I only upgraded to 8.0 because XP will soon be no longer supported.

    Thanks for the replies.
