Shadowing Day

    Hey guys,

I was at UCD today with my class and I asked one of the student ambassadors if shadowing was possible, but I want to go to Trinity so I'm posting here. Is it possible to shadow a Physics/Astrophysics student for a day? Who should I e-mail to set this up providing it is possible? (The physics faculty email in the prospectus?). I'm currently in 5th year and a friend and I are really set on studying Science at TCD (specifically Physics with astrophysics)

    Cheers!

Give the physics office email in the prospectus a go :) However, physics lectures for 1st years ended last monday so it would be too late for shadowing at this point. Since you're only in 5th year you could try again next year in say September / October which would a more appropriate date

As said above, send an email to the Physics department in late September/early October. We only specialise into Astrophysics in 3rd Year, but we take some Astrophysics lectures in 1st and 2nd Year.

I know TAP do shadowing weeks for TY students, but I know other departments have accommodated shadowing students in the past. If the Physics department for some reason can't sort you out, come back here in September and someone might be able to mail you lecture times and you can sit in on some of them and talk to some students.
