Missing licence

    hi i was in canada last week visiting friends and i lost my irish driving licence over there, i have the forms filled in here and garda filled in his part so do i have to make an appointment in the centre or can you just arrive?

    It depends where you're going to do the "walk-in". I recommend an appointment be done online. Otherwise, you'll turn-up and might be given an appoinment in 2-3 hours after you first turn-up or worst - not on that day.

    I was in Santry at 9am to renew and I was *lucky* to get an appointment for 11:15am that day!! Had to hang around for 2 hrs.

    Oh - make sure you've all your paper work in order!

    Which includes a proof of address and PPSN number. As you've lost your license, bring your passport as proof of ID.

    I did exactly the same as you, OP, misplaced my license after holidays last year. Last week I got all the forms together and went to the Kilkenny center. The place was empty, was in and out in 15 mins. Was told it will take 1 to 3 weeks.
