Named Driver Query

    Folks,

I'm currently a named driver on my partners car. Tonight we're going to go see a small car for me to practice in with her as I don't like driving our main car. We're going to go with my neighbour to see a car.
While she has comprehensive insurance and I can drive her car with a driver who has a full licence, could I, if we buy this second car, drive it back from the seller if accompanied by my neighbour?

Nope, only the policy holder has the driving of other cars extension. So get your girlfriend or your neighbor(if they have their own policy) to drive it back. Be warned it more then likely will be on a third party basis as majority of policies only offer this extension on a third party basis. Then get your own policy on the new car in the morning.

Driving other cars is not always included in a "comprehensive" policy. You should contact your insurer to check
