As always it's worth what somebody is willing to pay. 2250 without wheels, IMO you are asking for way too much. Anyway, it's a lovely bike so good luck with the sale.

Complete 2012 Infinito with 11sp Athena and Fulcrum Racing 5 brand new for €2700.

Yours is 10sp Centaur, used, and has no wheels.

It's worth what someone will pay for it, but IMO closer to €1500 with wheels or €1300 without is about right.

Why: the frameset new is about €2k, so perhaps €1k used. The groupset new is about €420, so perhaps €250 now. Finishing kit and wheels add another €250.

    Cheers for the responses lads.

However Lumen the Groupset new is around €8-900 and the frame new is €2800.

Groupset is £439 STG new here, possibly cheaper elsewhere.

    So €8-900 is way off.

    Nice Bike and GLWS

Thanks i do see that but when i add up the cost of the Carbon cranks and shifters it brings the price to £568 so say about €700 odd. Sure i will take a look again and see what price i will re advertise it for.

    Thanks

Well it's available for various prices from various places but the fact that you're arguing over 4% of the price suggests you haven't quite accepted that your bicycle is now worth something like half what you paid for it.

I've sold a few bikes online and even the very-nearly-new stuff didn't make even 70% of the lowest new price, and that was assuming latest generation equipment (i.e. not 10sp, in current terms).

An important factor is whether any frame warranty applies to the second owner. If not (as is usual) then buying it is a total punt - it might crack a week later leaving the new owner with an expensive wall ornament.

Good luck with the sale, it's a lovely bike. :)

As Astra says, it's only worth what someone's willing to pay for it. So, the rule of thumb about half the new price only really holds if there's a pool of potential buyers in the first place. If people simply thought it was overpriced, you may have gotten offers below asking price.

You're also selling an incomplete bike. People who buy a built-up bike usually do so because they don't want any fuss. They want something they can ride straight away without having to shop for components. So absence of wheels is making your bike less attractive to those people.

As you move up the value chain, your pool of potential buyers gets smaller and pickier. Someone with €2k to spend on a bike may not want a Bianchi or, if they do, they may not want an Infinito. And so on.

I'd break it up. You'll probably shift the groupset quick enough if you price it competitively, but you might need to be patient and wait a few months to find a buyer for the frame.

Thanks for the replys folks.so based on the half price value I would reckon that the bike is worth € 1450

The frame was €1950 discounted bought in June 2013

The groupset is 2013 was €800

The finishing kit was just shy of €200

The pedals are low spec Shimano €45

So based on this am I about right looking for €1450 ono

Hi Sorry about that, so as i said my post above i have listed the cost of the bike new and split it in half so i was going to re-advertise the bike for €1450.

I then saw your offer and i am willing to do a deal between your price and mine subject to inspection.

Let me know if your interested.

    OP,
All negotiations have to be conducted on thread. You need to either accept an offer or accept an offer subject to inspection before moving to private message.
