Galway City Council looking at car ferry service instead of bypass

    Galway City Council ratified plans to open for tender a contract for car ferry companies to operate a service crossing the River Corrib as an alternative to the by pass at last nights meeting in the County Buildings. Do they really think that A. It's viable and B. That this is a real alternative to a by pass.

    They were a busy lot at last night meeting according to the interweb. Apparently they also voted to reinstate all the round abouts that were removed over the past few years for signalled junctions.

    Sad thing is if its wasn't April 1st you could actually see them doing something the above.
