Redundancy

Hi there,
A month ago my boss told me not to come to work that week, that there was no work available,next week was the same. Was issue with letter that a date for return was not foreseeable. He told me I should probably look around. I did and am working on a monthly freelance basis for another company now. No official notice was ever given either way with the old job. My question is am I entitled to redundancy as things stand? I worked there for over 4 years and am still owed outstanding wages from him. Any help appreciated. Many thanks, Noel.

Thanks, yes I've obviously trawled the relevant sites and have been in touch with citizens advice. I was wondering if perhaps there was anybody with experience or insight relating to these specific parameters/ variants. There seems to be some slightly grey area here. Many thanks, noel
