The Ethics of Pokemon

I just watched this video on youtube and it got me thinking

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4YMD6xELI_k

Is it really right to capture pokemon and imprison them in a ball.

Then train them to fight for you amusement and status?

Taking away their freedom and entering them into a cruel life of Darwinian kill or be killed, seems wrong to me.

What did Super Mario have against turtles? He didn't even bother making soup out of them!

Of course it's fine, I hate to break it to you but they're not real.

It's not a case of "kill or be killed" as they don't kill each other in battle

Use luxury balls instead of normal ones, loads of room and they don't mind it as much
While it is the same as a normal Poké Ball in terms of success rates in general, a Pokémon caught in this ball will form a bond with its trainer more quickly

    Jigglypuff - greatest Pokemon ever.
    #Jigglypuff Jigglypuff, Jiggly, yy-puff, puff Jigglypuff, Jiggly...#

Jigglypuff laughs at your code of ethics and scribbles all over your face.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

I always loved how the first movie was 2 hours of fighting and then had an "it's wrong to fight" message at the end before going back to more fighting in the rest of the franchise. :pac:

Pokémon is a Zionist conspiracy to indoctrinate the kids in the heretical theory of evolution.

That's just crazy talk. Next thing you are saying is that Santa Claus isn't real or that Dustin isn't really a Turkey.

You know it's a cartoon, right?

This is a question most of us would have thought about or encountered while still in national school. And, overwhelmingly, we chose to respond "To blazes with the ethics of it, I wants me Pokemon!!!". We know, and knew, it's wrong and the only way it would stop would be to stop playing. But why would you ever do that?

The setting of which is a post war recovery phase...
a war that used pokemon and took the lives of most of a generation's men...
They used pokémon in the war.
