BYOB restaurants are becoming more commonplace thankfully.

    Current Dublin favourites are:

    Damascus Gate- Camden Street
Dux & Co- Wellington Quay, Temple Bar
Il Posto- St Stephen's Green (restrictions apply)
    Doghouse Blues- Howth
Chinese above Viscount pub- Swords Road

Any more elsewhere in the country?

Musashi (Japanese food), Capel st, Dublin. (wine only)

Cedar is a lovely Lebanese restaurant in Derry and is BYO. They don't mind if you bring in nice beers too. The food is pricier than average but it's only £2 corkage so the bill normally works out around the same when you factor in how much you're saving on drink. :)

Basmati indian restaurant, Lahinch, Co Clare. No corkage.

Cafe Bliss, Montague Street, Dublin 2.

Bring your own wine or beer, no corkage charge.

Little Jerusalem in Rathmines is a good option for BYOB.

Plus no wonder its byob. they'll make enough profit charging 20euro for a salad and a fancy taco

    No thanks!

Vintage Kitchen on Poolbeg St is BYOB. I'm not sure on corkage, think it's free once you spend more that a certain amount

Kahn's Balti House in Donnybrook is BYO as well.

Just to add, many places are quite amenable to BYOB especially if not fully booked or on quieter evenings if you ask when booking, and generally just apply a corkage charge of €5 or €6 per bottle. Definitely worth asking the question and easy to do over the phone.

Are there any BYOB venues about which are more like pubs, or anything other than a restaurant.

I know some bowling alleys are BYOB or at least have BYOB nights.

Unless they apply a cover charge (gigs etc) or serve food, I'm not sure of many other BYOB establishments. Dog House Blues in Howth is probably the most like a bar- I think corkage is around €6.

Heading to Vantastival musical festival on the May bank holiday weekend- that's fully BYOB and only €75 for 3 nights including camping!

Seagrass near the Portobello bridge is BYOB

Tried Dux & Co the week before last. Corkage is only €4 per bottle of wine, which is very reasonable given its city centre location. Nice casual restaurant. Menu small but adequate.

It's actually only wine now, got caught out by this last week. Thinking of bringing a bottle of whiskey next time and just pointing to where it says BYOW

Not really suggesting this but bring a screw bottle wine, so it doesn't need corked.. fill it with whatever you drink, pour from said bottle.
Not suggesting this or anything... really.... ermmmmmmm

Any BYOB in Galway anyone knows of.....

Off the top of my head, High Cafe (entrance between the front door and bunch of grapes). Excellent value for money but not top end dining by any means. Tagines, Pasta, Pizza, falaffal, that sort of thing. I'd recommend the tagines, they are delicious.

Second High Cafe. Very good value food but very casual- lots of families with children. No corkage either so big savings :)

That Zakura sushi joint down on Wexford St is BYOB, decent selection across the road in Whelans Offo, can even pop out for more booze between courses. Nice grub too.
