    Hi folks,

Following the recent blasphemy law changes, After Hours related controversy and "Pantigate" defamation incident, Boards.ie's legal team, Orla Polfi and Associates, conducted a full review of all site operations. It is with a very heavy heart that we must inform you that due to these recent events several forum changes must be made for A&A to remain open:
    • Effective May 1st 2014, this forum will no longer be allowed to leave published posts that may in any way be deemed offensive either to an individual's character or a specific religious ideology.
    • Posts containing blasphemous material will be deleted and the infringing poster may be infracted or banned.
    • The 'Funny Side of Religion' Threads will be closed and permanently deleted.
    • Posts made on the 'Hazards of the Belief' will not appear until they have been approved by a moderator.

In general, posters are asked to give deep consideration before posting any material of a potentially blasphemous nature. If in doubt, do not post. At the very least consult your friendly local mod team.:) We can by all means still discuss biscuits, abortion, education, the usual stuff really. Just that now we ask that posters be a bit more conscientious about what they are posting. We know that you are conscientious bunch anyway. We ask that you continue to remain vigilant about the new changes and report any posts that contravene the charter which shall be modified shortly.

Thanking you for being such a wonderful community,:)
    Robin, Dades and Jernal.

Wow, crap news, must be a blow to you guys at the coalface. Bullied into self censorship by the financial muscle of the zealots, freedom of religious expression indeed! Hadn't ever planned to, but I'm off to sign up with Atheist Ireland now as the most credible counter lobby.

Orla Polfi? Did they not used to employ that well-known Swedish advocate, Olaf Orpil?

Expect similar new policies there, too, at some point. Or they'll encounter the legal issues we're avoiding.

No doubt. While I'm not always their biggest fan, they do seem to be the most visible and active lobby group with a secular agenda, so I'll throw my lot in with them on that basis, and email my local TD and councillors. Probably about as effective as farting in a hurricane but there you go.

I won't be using this forum any more. Regardless of the new changes, I took a free personality test this morning and found out that I am a very unhappy person and need to change my ways.

I feel offended. But I'll be happy if somebody can buy me off with thirty grand.

Thirty pieces of silver would do fine too.

I've set up a site to register complaints here:

    Awws:(
Cos you know it wouldn't have to be any bother on us. Are you sure now?

Polfi? I used her over many years and she's not what she seems. She'll be exposed in the end.

Anyway, I, too, am off to Atheism Ireland+, to sign up for their new A&A forum.

I for one welcome our new blasphemy overlords. I'd like to remind them as a trusted Boards.ie personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.

Aye she was, Dad smelt of elderberries too. Hamsters run boards.ie, so it would logically follow that some mods are hamsters. I take it this affirms your desire to be banned?

No, not at all. Deadly serious. No anti-religion posts and definitely no biscuits.

Again ok, unless it's blasphemous or defamatory.

When I was back home last I brought a gift back for an family member who thinks I come from a 'heathen country'. I wanted to prove that, so I bought them a cookie cutter the size of a slice of bread with a picture of Jebus on it called 'Holy Toast'. It just occurred to me that it could be used to make religious biscuits. A perfect blend of our two favourite subjects.
