First post here, Mod's please move if required.

I think so, let me explain.
In 2000, when we moved to our new house, the Aerial Man, put up an aerial, ( which would take in this new digital stuff ) plus we installed a Sky Dish.

So by feeding the Aerial through the Sky Box, then up to attic, a box to feed the signals throughout the house.

So we had the choice of BBC, UtV, etc on our usual TV channels, and Sky on a different Channel.

Now we move to Digital, the aerial works, so the feed should be similar, with a Saorview box to decode the Digital Signal.

Now I accept I an now complaining about a signal, that I am not entitled to, i.e from UK.

So no problems with the Irish Channels, but from the North.......rubbish

I am in North Co Dublin, and enjoyed a great Analogue signal, in fact in Summer, High Pressure the signal changed to BBC Wales, automatically.

To night........its raining, and the signal, on UTV, Ch 4, is great, but the BBC's are gone....why??

I did a rescan over the weekend, and it pulled in a signal from, BT Sports 1 & 2, obviously scrambled, where did that come from, and some Babe Channel.

So I have a poorer choice of channels that before, hence my question

Digital, were we sold a pup, rain interrupts, WTF, its rubbish.

BTY its stopped raining so I am back on BBC1.

BBC/UTV etc off an an aerial is not dependable. Its not meant to broadcast into Ireland. You are receiving it as overspill from Northern Ireland. Parts of North County Dublin can receive it albeit intermittently. Perhaps your aerial could be fine tuned, but the long term solution is to install a freesat (satellite) receiver for the UK stations, like the rest of the country.

    many thanks for your reply.
I guess I am just frustrated by the fact that a rain shower can interrupt the signal.
I accept, and stated that I am complaining about a signal from UK, that I am not entitled to

So for example sometimes the signal from UTV up to Film4 is OK, but the BBC's are gone, sometimes its the reverse, any reason why ?

Compared with my choices with the Analogue system this is disappointing.

    Progress........

If you can give the frequencies that you are receiving, someone can ascertain where you are receiving it from. Probably Divis.

There should be some form of signal meter on your TV. Whilst not that accurate it can give you an idea of its stability. During good weather, if the signal is low, it will dissapear during rain.
