So far this year I have paid zero USC. It hasn't appeared on my payslips whatsoever.
I have no idea why I haven't paid any and wonder is it a mistake and I will have to repay it.
I have a medical card also if that's any difference. Anyone any ideas?

Is your income above the annual €10036 threshold? Are you paid on an irregular frequency e.g. only paid say every quarter/ irregular values?

The medical card would mean that the max rate is 4%.

In general, check with your payroll office for such queries- they should have the data to hand to explain why this is so. It's possible that for some unknown reason your certificate of tax credits issued by the Revenue Commissioners required a zero USC to apply (I think it's only for very limited circumstances, however).

Yes my income is above the threshold. And I am paid weekly.
I have no idea what is going on with it.

recommend you check with your payroll person to see what rate your Credits Statement from Revenue has you on, possibly payroll has made an error. Also check with Revenue if they have you on zero USC for some reason. need to get this one sorted asap or you'll end up with a big USC bill
