Hi,

The tyres on my pashley bike are Schwalbe Marathon Plus 28x1.1/2 (700x38b) 40x635...

Can I replace these with this size tyre as difficult to find exact tyre...

No, you won't!

Tyres on your Pashley are larger than most 700xXXC tyres - they are 635mm in bead diameter, not 622mm.

Look for 700xXXB or XXx635 tyres instead.

I spent about 2 hours on amazon looking for tyres and now I am getting more confused.
the numbers I quoted initially are actually what is on the tyre on the bike and the closest I could find is the other

It must be exactly 635mm, you won't get a 622mm one on your rim - it will be too tight. You can get one of these:

anyway I bought the wrong ones after getting the advise from "seaswimmer" when I went to cancel they had already went through the amazon system....
now all that's left for me is to take legal action against my advisers "shatter"

I am expecting I will probably be able to use and anyway because I was unsure I only bought one so its not the end of the world...
