    depollution system faulty.

i have peugeot planet 2000, so connected the car to it and after a scan i get this.

Additive system. quantity of additive to high.

    permanent fault. EGR valve learning.

intermittent fault. brake contact signal. main switch fault.

the car is working fine, had it out today for amour run and its fine.

I've being told that the erg could stuck open?

can anyone shed some light on this please?

There's a poster on her called Row, you could look at his old threads or PM him for advice.
He seems to be quite familiar with 407s and their EGR/DPF systems.

Looks like the egr valve is flagging the depol fault....When you read the faults in planet click the (!) icon on the bottom of the screen and post up the
    p-codes for each fault.
I would clean the egr valve first then re-learn it in with planet....if its still causing problems then it looks like you need a new egr valve.

We'll this is really starting to bug me now. Filled up the car this morning, first time since engine light come on, after pulling away no depollution system faulty message or engine light on!

I've used the car three times this morning and still no lights or messages.

I'll hook up planet later to see what that says.

Post up an fault codes that you pick up in the engine ecu and also check for faults in the additive ecu (add to go ecu)

I Don't think topping up with fuel is bringing up the depol fault...

    more fault codes now.

    P1536
    P1445
    P1461
    U1118
    P1693

    P1461
    U1118
    P1693

P1536 Brake switch signal : Lack of coherence between the 2 brake pedal signals

Check the brake switchs in the parameter measurements with planet.
It could be Brake pedal/Brake pedal sensor/Electrical harness..

P1445 Additive system : Quantity of additive remaining in the tank too great
Check the level of additive and the fuel cap sensor in the add to go ecu....This fault may clear after it goes tru a dpf regeneration.

P1461 Electric EGR valve position copy signal : Difference between the stops programmed at long-term

Clean the egr valve and check the main plug/connections
If its still the same afterwards then you may need a new egr valve.

U1118 CAN communication : Absence of communication with the BSI ECU

Check the connectors on the bsi/engine ecu and engine bay fusebox.

P1693 Controlled engine starting and stopping : Starting or stopping requests absent or not valid

Again this could be a communication fault.

Btw did you power wash the engine lately...?
Seems like there are a few electrical gremlins going on with your 407.

Since you cleared these fault have any reappeared..?

thanks so much for that info, ill be checking rings today.

no I've not jest washed the engine at all, i was always lead to believe that it wasn't a goos idea to do things like that.

i can't clear the faults in planet as i get this message when i try to clear them.

before erasing the faults an after sales zone must be completed. and it goes back to the screen where the faults are listed.

    thanks mark

I have came across a few 407's that had there engines powerwashed and this lead to alot of electrical problems afterwards

As for clearing the faults keep going on after it says about completing the after sales zone...input milage etc and do what it tells you to do like turn off ignition for 12 seconds.....this will clear all non permanent faults.
take it for a drive and see what faults (if any) come up fresh afterwards..;)

I've bring driving it fine, with lights on the dash.

after i put the milage in it doesn't say anything about turning of the ignition, it flashes a message up but its to quick to read it, then it back to the screen with the faults on.

What version of planet are you running..?
Will it read/clear faults in the other ecus e.g. bsi, radio etc..?

The stepper might be getting fouled - a some spray oil might help. Other than that, a parameter relearn (or whatever it is called in Planet) for the EGR might help too.

    Hi row. I need your help. I have a 407 hdi 2.0.
    It's using lots of oil
    No power
    PDF is clear
    Turbo is healthy apparently

I saw your post about disconnecting the egr valve but the image doesn't appear to be the same as under my bonnet. Please help, you really seem to know your stuff. Cheers
