Kind of knew someone who got into Dropshipping. He set up three websites, each one for a different niche. The marketing is all standard Internet marketing stuff (adsense, upping conversions, SEO).

Where most people fall down is getting a good dropshipper. Save yourself a huge headache and buy access to a database. WorldWideBrands seem to have a good rep. And make sure the niche you're targeting isn't crowded. Trying to be a "Me Too" will likely only result in you operating a money pit.

EDIt: Forgot to mention, the dropshipping forum on Reddit is a goldmine for finding legit suppliers/dropshippers.

When you decide on the type of products you want to sell, approach the manufacturer of the product directly and ask them if they are willing to drop ship products for you. Some are (and some have never even heard of the concept so be prepared to sell the benefits to them), but even if they aren't you can ask them who their distributors are. That way you know you have a legit wholesaler. The problem with drop shipping is finding the legit ones. So many online claim to be wholesalers and charge prices that you simply won't be able to profit from. As the poster above said finding the right drop shipper (once you've researched the best niche) is key.
