    I've a 05 Corrolla, 1.4 petrol. Getting on average 35mpg.

Putting €20, and getting 160 to 170km out. Is this normal?
It was serviced 4 months ago.

Depends on the use. Town driving it's fine, motorway at 120 plus it's probably fine due to gearing.

Also, your method isn't the most accurate way to measure economy. You should fill the tank and then measure it at next fill.

yeah, I'll try filling the tank next time and see.

Always feels like I'm lacking power also

My sister drives the same car and she is getting 44mpg, so unless its continuous stop-start city driving them something is wrong. My sister lives in the country so its mainly 80-110km/h speeds always for her.

On average 151 per litre. That's about 2.93 gallons.
    170 km is 107 miles
36 MPG. Not the best way to calculate.

Next time light comes on put in a set amount (20 liters for example)
Then reset trip comp and see how many miles you do before light comes on again.

Average this over a few fills and see that way.

What style driving do you do mainly? Motorway or town etc. Are you quite heavy footed?

Would have thought 40 would be acceptable so not that far off.

I'm getting about 41 mpg out of my 02. But I drive it very gently. At over about 100 kph the revs are fairly high. Imo it could def do with a 6th gear or higher 5th gear.

Best to fill, then drive for a bit, fill up and then repeat. The low fuel light doesn't always come on at the same time.

What would a 1.4 diesel corolla return on fuel economy

I get around 32 to 34 from the one I use which is an auto petrol. Rarely on a motorway and averaged over years! That trip comp is hardly ever reset.

35 mpg in the city and around 45mpg on a good motorway run would be normal on that car. 100kmh seemed to be the sweetspot for speed and mpg.
