I'd love to be able to get out and see it - but it is a bit to early in the day for me.

Last air test I've seen *logged* from 'SND was over Bahrain in December 2012!

70,000 hours total time seems rather high for someone to be buying it though; I think the 727 fatigue frame only went to 60,000.

But she was definitely up for sale ( as of July 2013 or so ). In the starboard profile shot you can see one of the white-livered 727s behind:

Some gorgeous shots here, apparently from this month! *confused*

HZ-SND, which may have been in storage since 2011, as I can find no later pictures, is due to Dublin for painting tomorrow, 01/04/14.

    Due at 1700 from Heraklion.

    Jan...Feb...March............... ?

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

I should have done a little more research. It does appear to have just finished flying for DHL in Bahrain. Looking very well I might add.

if you are implying 'april fool's' then you are wrong.

I would have been a bit more extravagant with the aircraft type for an April fool's joke.

Back in 96. I worked for Hunting cargo Airlines. 727s were a routine sight. Hard to believe they're a novelty now. I always made a point of 'checking' their paperwork to get out of the office. Just so I could sit on the flight deck and dream.

Love the 727. Flew to Faro on one a while ago, noisy but great.

Some of us do not have the luxury of just sitting around all day waiting for aircraft. 17:00 is about the earliest I could have left to head out there - then getting to the airport across town that time of the day is a hassle in it self. So yes - it was a bit too early at 5pm in the afternoon of a weekday.

Thanks for the heads up! Didn't manage to get up to DUB though.

    Great April fools joke! ;)

By pure chance I saw this on approach over Maynooth at around 18:10, looked very well in the sunshine.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Saw it on short finals on my way home. I couldn't believe I was seeing a flying 727 in Dublin! I nearly crashed the car trying to eyeball it to make sure.

Probably the last flying 727 we'll see in Dublin, or at least I will see.

I remember taking a RAM 727 to Morocco years ago too.

As Billie1b, I would also like to know when its due to leave. Does it normally take a week to ten days to paint an aircraft like this ?

seen it parked up, seems to be in the exact same position as the norweigan dreamliner was a few days ago.

    She's still in hangar 3.
I looked in yesterday and it was extremely WHITE.
Hopefully that was only an undercoat.
S5-AAG was in the area of the 787 but that's a Canadair Regional Jet

I remember the DHL 727s coming into Cork in the early nineties, like you took them for granted, only once did I go to see it take off in the evening. First Air of Canada operated the route a few times as well.
