I am considering a camping trip to Inishmore in July and I was wondering if there are any official camp sites on the island for a family.

    Hi Op,

did you find a campsite on InisMhor? Was thinking of camping there later in the summer myself. I found a telephone number on one website but haven't been able to get through it it, no matter what time I try and ring!

There are small campsites on all 3 of the islands, but facilities are basically non existant. They are fields that just happen to have less rocks in them than the other fields. They have a fairly clean toilet and a sink, that's it!! That being said it's a place I love to go camping, and if you are looking for somewhere with more facilities, I am pretty sure I have seen tents pitched in front of the hotel on inis mor.

    Hi,

Yes there is a campsite on Inishmor, with a very basic toilet and sink etc and a tap for water. However, up the top of the hill there is a hostel (Mainistir) who will let you take a shower etc for a small fee, will probably even let you do some cooking if you wanted. Also, this place is very cheap to stay, circa 20 euro per night. We initially were camping but it got amazingly hot so we bailed and stayed there. Yer man Joel who runs it is a super cook, dinner i think is 10 euro.Free breakfast. cheers

oh yeah i think camping is 10 euro per night, no need to book, just walk in and pitch, the owner will smell ya ha........
