    Hi all
Over the last couple of days I have noticed when I accelerate in my Trafic it gives a kick when the rpm is around 2800, other than that the van is driving perfectly. It's a 2008 model 2.0 litre model with 157000 kilometers. Is there anyone who might know what the problem is?

EGR or Camshaft sensor, one or tother. Probably the Egr. Or the airflow meter, or the TPS...it's a Traffic, they have the sneaky when it comes to faults. Could be the ECU either..but my bet is on the EGR valve.

Thanks, if it's the egr valve is matter of taking it out and cleaning or replacing it altogether?

How successful is cleaning an egr valve? I'm thinking of cleaning my egr valve on my van...glow plug light flicking on and off and hesitating when accelerating when the glow plug flickers. Is it a big job?

Easy enough to remove and clean - use carburettor cleaner and give it a good toothbrushing but often a new valve is required regardless. MF - you sound like you have a wiring fault - either a bad earth(take them off, clean and retighten, or else the loom has cracked a bit somwhere- have a good goo - usually they've chafed going into the ECU security casing and can be a bit of a bugger to fix - the casing has to come off and it usues security screws, but they're not done up too tight so removal, while a pain, is possible. Fix the chafing if you find some(you usually do) and chop a bit out of the ECU security casing where the loom enters. Check the earths first, they're simpler.

Took the van to my mechanic, he plugged in his computer and it diagnosed a injector is short circuiting
