    hi
would anybody be able to advise me on the necessary specification of a concrete base for a 20ft x30ft shed using steel uprights with the sheeting to the floor (no blocks)

What i m wondering is how much steel is required at the 6 points where the rsj's will be located. The concrete base will be 125mm deep with deeper sections under rsj location 600mm approx with steel tied in hole.

I was nt planning on putting steel over the whole floor is this a mistake the biggest load that will be on it is a vw transporter.

Also someone said to me you can't paint the floor if their is no insulation in it, it will flake off if you do is this true.

    any advise appreciated

In relation to the steel you'l need to consult a structural engineer as for the painting the ground It will get damp/cold if the slab has no damp proof membranes under it, so i wouldn't bother painting the floor unless its actually necessary

    hope this helps somewhat
