Is there big savings in doing so.

Have a 'Bit of a Do' coming up and was going to borrow it for booze and nibbles etc if he lets me!! Will give him list and send him in and pay him receipt of the docket!

I will have to pay all the VAT etc.....no deals there!

But would I but say a 750ml bottle of Vodka cheaper in Tesco/ Dunnes????

Very little savings to be made in cash & carrys tbh.

They're grand for some things in bulk - but generally not for savings on alcohol, or, well, anything really.

Tell us more about this "do" though :D

Son is 21 soon... wants to have 20+/1 over to house (putting up a small Marquee in patio with his mate doing the music) and so they can have use of kitchen and marquee and of course FRIDGE. Getting some lasagne and curry delivered and beer etc on countertop for them. Then off to nightclub around 11-3pm ...

So.. as adults we stuck upstairs except for driving duties !!!!

    ...can't wait..NOT!

Supermarkets have special offers on alcohol every week. Shop around in the weeks before the party and buy what you want when it's discounted.

No savings on drink, a mate of mine has a cash and carry card, but buys all his drink in tesco except the odd special offer. As an example http://www.musgravemarketplace.ie/_uploads/documents/PDFS/Musgrave_Pub_Plof_Summer_LW_fin.pdf

Above prices would have increased after budget.

700cl vodka €15.49 plus VAT total €19.05 considering tescos do specials of a litre for €20. If you buy 12 bottles it comes in at 17.32.

Cash n Carry is just a supermarket that gives two months credit.

If you wanna buy cheap buy in bulk. i.e by the pallet.

How long would a pallet of curry stay good for?

Years if it was powder I'd imagine, it's not my area of expertise. I was talking about the vodka.:pac:

That would only get better with age i imagine.

It loses some of it's flavour over time. Nothing like fresh ground spices.

OP, will you pick me up a pallet of that Mae Ploy curry paste while you're in there. I find it hard to get in the shops. Cheers!

This is true - the one in beside the fruit and veg markets - near Capel st (Fagans) has some good deals on tea-bags and other bulk stuff, but generally, the prices are a bit crap. Supermarkets buy direct from the manufacturers, hence the discount. Corner shops and petrol stations buy from cash-and -carries, hence their prices are much higher than even your local Tesco.
