Galaxy s3 mini not charging (warranty?)

I have a samsung galaxy sIII mini purchased just under a year ago from amazon.de. Recently the battery has died and will not charge when plugged in and also not recognised by computer when plugged in. I have googled the problem and it looks like it could be the usb connection itself.

Since it is less than a year old, I have read on Samsung's website that their warranties are for 1 year. Does this still count even though it was bought from amazon? How would I go about getting this repaired under warranty if so?

Manufacturers warranty is usually 1 year, so you're fine.

Of course it does, you always go back to the retailer, even if you buy from a bricks and mortar shop. Nobody would buy electrical goods from Amazon if it meant the guarantee was useless.

Do you still have the confirmation e-mail you got from amazon.de when the item was shipped? That should have details of the procedure to return faulty goods. If you're using a browser to access the e-mail, use Google Chrome, it will offer to translate the text to English.
