Sold the focus today. I'm fairly useless when it comes to surfing the webs for car. So If anyone sees what I'm looking for I'd appreciate a link.

What I'm looking for is a mk5 golf 1.9tdi van.
    Years: 06-08
    Mileage ideally under 100k miles/ 160k km.
obviously a comfortline spec would be better.
I don't want anything that's lowered or modified.

Anyone have any suggestions let me know.

Thanks bazz26 the first one you linked I seen the add earlier and it's seems like a good van. That'll be the first one to ring about on Monday unusual colour too. If it all checks out and is clean it would be a good one to buy. My dad is up that way a good bit and I have alot of family near so the trek wouldn't be an issue.

You're going to find it tough to get a good one.

Would a caddy work? There are some nicely specced ones around.

I know it's going to be though to find one. Caddy is a bit to vanny if you know what I mean. If I can find a clean golf van that's the best option but if I can't I may end up getting a car.

I was talking to my uncle ( mechanic) so we will probably go look at the bronze colour bazzs first link during the week. The only thing that worries me is the fact it doesn't have front fog lights and it's a comfortline. Which afaik they all came with them new. So a possible reason would be that the bumper was replaced at some stage and fog left out to save money. My uncle can spot if a car has had paint a mile away anyway so it shouldn't be an issue. It's just a bit weird it's a comfortline and doesn't have them. It's not that I particularly need front foglights it's just if it should have them does it not have them is the worry.

I don't think front fog lights were standard on the Golf Comfortline back then. Sportline had them but I think they were extra on the Comfortline. If they are missing from that van and had them originally then the switch should still have the setting on it.

If it doesn't have them it doesn't bother me it's just if it should have them . As you said it will be obvious from the switch. What should the comfortlines from back then have centre arm rest a/c cruise control ?

Comfortline had cruise control, auto lights, auto wipers, auto dimming rear view mirror and nicer seats. The Golf only got A/C as standard from 2007 onwards but it would not be uncommon to find a 07 Golf van with the older spec as the vans sold in smaller numbers.

Right an update. That red/orange 07 one bazz linked is sold. So back to the drawing board. I haven't spotted anything else worth viewing yet. Any other links keep them coming. I have an uncle in the trade who may have a 08 one coming in but I won't know much till tomorrow.

After looking at a few rough golf vans and almost giving up. A local one popped up and I was quick to go see it. I bought it there and then absolutely spotless. 07 100k km with full vw service history. Timming belt done last week with receipts from vw for parts full service last week again receipts. Just passed doe. I was just shocked. There is still factory plastic on some of the interior lights. Collecting tomorrow can't wait.
In terms of extras it's has; alloys, front fogs, a/c, trip, cruise control auto dimming mirror. So full comfortline spec. Also it has "coming home lighting" between off and parking lights on the lighting switch. Anyone know what that does or when you use it.

Is that not just auto on/off and they come on when you remote unlock/ stay on 30 secs after you lock.

That the same as follow me home lights I say? They come on when you lock the doors lights stay on for 30 seconds or so to light up your door way or whatever I think!

Well on the switch it's a picture of a car and house so I don't think they work as auto lights I dont know ?

Far as I know, that feature is only on models with auto lights/wipers.

You sure its not a picture of a tunnel?

But afaik the golf with auto lights have on the switch off then "auto" then parking light symbol. This does have auto written on it so I assume it didn't have auto light ill see If I can find a picture of what the switch looks like.

Your right it has a tunnel like this. Is that a symbol for auto lights then. I'm not sure why I thought the golfs with auto light had "auto" written on the switch.

Have a similar setup on my CC. Not sure on the Mk IV Golf back then but you can navigate into the On Board Computer menu and set the delay time for the follow me home lights to say on. Only works with the light switch set to Auto though. Mk VII Golf I had a loan of a few weeks back had the same setup.

Well wear btw. Hard to find clean used car derived vans these days, most tend to be driven to within an inch of their lives by people who don't own them.

The owner was saying that the lights come on at night when you turn it off so he obviously has it set up like that and probably leaves it set to auto.

You couldn't be more right about trying to find a clean van. People complain about trying to find clean cars clean vans are 10 times harder to find. As most were treated like a van and the sh!t driven out of them. Then some were heavily modified and the sh!t was driven out of them too. It the original and clean ones that are the hardest to find.
