    Hi all...what to i do when a landlord refuses rent supplement in Dublin? im on the jobseekers allowance...just moved into a flat landlord says he cant accept rent supplement....im living on 46 euros a week & cant survive.would the social protection help or the community welfare officer help if the Landlord refuses rent supplement? any info would be appreciated....Thx

    as a last resort I would ....but I would have to be really stuck ! if I knew the people it would be no prob...10 years ago I shared with a guy I didn't know....the guy was a Nut job...a violent Freak. I had to leave a deposit of 850 euros behind me...so its a far from ideal option !

    It might be far from an ideal option but it looks like your options are limited.

    Can you place an ad on Gumtree or somewhere saying you're interested in getting together with a like-minded individual who's looking for a house-share?
    House-sharing or finding a Landlord willing to accept RA seem to be your only options, as far as I can see.

    Third option: Move. There is plenty of accommodation available outside Dublin are more realistic rents; better quality of life, and, depending on your skills, experience, possibly better chance of getting work
