Just looking for some advice from you good folks. Myself and herself got married just over a month ago and we're wondering if we need to inform revenue or anything? Does it make any difference from a taxation/tax credits point of view
If it helps, on just under 60k/year and she is on 30k/year
    Thanks guys

She can transfer extra lower rate bands to you, it looks like she has about 2k lower rate band that is transferable which would save you about 400 per year. So yes you want revenue to know

if both earn over 32,000 or whatever the cut-off is, is there any benefit to getting assessed together?

just wondering how long it takes to process joint assessment.

was married last year so it should apply now and get refunded and dues ??

I got married in Jan 2012. Around July 2013 I filled in me Form 11E form for 2012 year and opted for Joint assessment with my partner. Revenue informed me that I couldn't apply for joint assessment as I hadn't informed them by March 31st 2013.
