Off camera cord from Godox

Bought a Godox TTL cord, I have a Nikon D3100 that uses the iTTL system. The flash unit I have is the Nissin di466. I hook up the TTL cord correctly to both camera and flash, I half press the shutter button and the pilot light on the flash changes instantly from red (idle) to green (ready), so I know there is a communication between the camera and flash via the shoe cord. When I press the button fully, the flash will not fire. I have tried absolutely everything, settings, flash modes. I even checked the hotshoe for wear and tear. Everything checks out, and yes the flash works normally when mounted to the camera's hotshoe. What am I doing wrong? My first thought is that I have a compatibility issue, yet I cannot see how. Any help would be appreciated.
