Just keep talking to the tester in one big long sentence. That'll see you right.

Not sure of you're serious, with posting for advice in after hours an' all, but the Learning to Drive subforum over in Motoring has loads of posts on the Trailer Test.

Most of them are much more sensible compared to what you'll get here.

Afaik the trailer test can only be done with a 4x4 now, I'm open to correction though

Overheard a chap being failed on not checking mirrors, not paying attention to his surroundings & not progressing enough. Apparently according to the tester he didn't drive it on when he could have.
    Hope that helps a bit.

    Would the T5 4motion qualify?

You have to climb out of the vehicle and into the trailer while it's moving. It's a scary test. Best of luck!

Since when was there a test for pulling a trailer?

Only if you are over weight.

Since when was there a test for pulling a trailer?

A double axle trailer requires a seperate licence. Also a single axle over a certain weight

I'm not sure what exactly is required but as far as I know the vehicle needs to have 4 wheel drive. I've often wondered could you do the test in an impreza wrx :D

That advice could be useful at "the ten to two what will i do" delima in the night club.

I imagine you will need to demonstrate competence driving with a trailer attached.

    You're welcome. :p

Take the heifers off the trailer before hand.

Get a tractor, you can pull a low loader with 50 tonne on it if you want, no licence required.

Mate of mine works in that test centre, give me €100 and I'll guarantee you pass the test.

Unless there's an inspector round in which case I'll give you back the €100.

Just to recap, give me €100 and if you fail the test I'll give it back.

The brakes on the 35x dont be great the best of time.

Gotcha. Just checked my licence and I can drive a vehicle between 3.5 & 7.5 tonne with a trailer over 750kg but combined weight not to exceed 12 tonne.

I'm also licensed to tow trailer on passenger vehicle with 9-15 seats. Same weights as above.

Lights are for cissies. I break them the day I buy them - saves tears later on.

So just because I'm sixteen stone I need to take a trailer test?

Hardly seems fair - I mean, who's supposed to be driving while I'm sitting in the trailer?

    Can't see this catching on.
