No signal on my freeview box

Hey guys. So I got a freeview box (has english channels, no Irish channels) about 5/6 years ago, worked perfect for ages. Moved house about 3 years ago and for about the past year or so I'm not getting any signal. I presume it's something wrong with the dish on the roof.
I'm just wondering is it possible to get a small indoor aerial to connect to the freeview box to get my channels back? Or do I need to get a new box, new ariel, saorview, the whole lot?
I have no clue about this stuff clearly, any help appreciated.

Freeview and Freesat are services that are UK based.

Freesat is received off a satellite dish.

Freeview is received off an aerial if you live in an advantageously positioned area of the east coast of Ireland/Nothern Ireland border.

Saorrview is the Irish equivelant of Freeview except with the Irish Channels, received by an aerial and a suitable DVB-T/MPEG4 box or IDTV.

I presume you mean freesat. What make and model of the box.

    It's Philex, that's all I know.

How did you find that image, show me the webpage rather than image location.

The picture is too small to decipher what it is.

I found it on google images, it's from ebay but the item itself must be taken down because it won't go into it.
It just says Philex digital set top box, dvb on it.

When I go into 'about receiver' it says SW version S2.70.074A_080325PLX
    HW Version B1.29.H1e.D0.SC1
    Date Mar 25 2008/20:19:30

Don't know whether that's any use to you or not.

That looks like a Philex free to air satellite receiver that was sold in B & Q in the UK several years ago. Nothing to do with Freeview, you need a dish.

The model no. of the Philex receiver would be helpful, I assume it's a FTA satellite receiver if connected to a satellite dish outside.

Best place to start would be to get an aerial installer in to check the dish.

If you want the Irish Saorview channels, start here - http://www.saorview.ie/get-saorview/make-the-switch/. What is the make and model of your TV? If it is newish it may have the required Saorview tuner on board for the Irish channels if connected to the correct aerial. If not a Saorview set top box will be required.

Hmm the Hardware Vervision points to an Amstrad 16100, but it is possible that was a clone of it.

Anyhow its a Philex 28212R, it normally came part of a kit that included a satellite dish.

Its a standard definition box (no HD) for satellite. You need to connect it to a satellite dish pointed at 28.2E and you will get the Uk stations. You will need a different box for the RTE's/Iris Stations - your TV may already have this etc

Heres the instruction manual for the box. http://www.philex.com/assets/downloads/products/34.pdf

Thanks. :) My tv is fairly old so I doubt I can get any channels on it without soarview or a set top box. Only problem is I'm not 100% sure if it's the dish or the box that's faulty. I'm guessing my cheapest option would be to install a new dish? Or would I be better off getting a saorview box and an indoor aerial, if that's possible.

A Saorview box will get only get you RTE1, 2, Tv3, Tg4, 3e, RTE News Now and RTE1+1 with an aerial connected.

The box you have will get you the UK channels with a satellite dish.

Get someone out to look at the dish in the event that you cannot borrow someone elses satellite box to rull out that your box is fecked..

One of these is connected to the back of the box and is also going to the wall plate ?

That thing is going up to the ceiling I think. (The box is in my bedroom upstairs).

If replacing the Philex box have a look at the range of Freesat satellite receivers, very user friendly and with a Sky like 7 day programme guide and available as a basic zapper version or twin tuner recorder (PVR) version.

http://www.joinfreesat.co.uk/ - see the rh colum for the available range
